Barangay Apatan

Situated in Pinukpuk, Kalinga, Barangay Apatan is one of 23 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Apatan had a population of 2,249. This made it the 3rd largest of 23 barangays in Pinukpuk by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Apatan accounted for approximately 6.56% of the total population of Pinukpuk, which stood at 34,275 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,067 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,249 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Apatan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
