Situated in Polangui, Albay, Barangay Binagbangan is one of 44 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

This made it the 35th largest of 44 barangays in Polangui by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Binagbangan accounted for approximately 1.05% of the total population of Polangui, which stood at 89,176 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Binagbangan moving from 922 residents to 937 residents, an intercensal change of +1.6%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community.
