Barangay Poblacion

Barangay Poblacion is a large barangay in the municipality of President Roxas, located in the province of Cotabato, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 8,193. This made it the 1st largest of 25 barangays in President Roxas by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 15.60% of the total population of President Roxas, which stood at 52,512 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 7,737 residents to 8,193 residents, an intercensal change of +5.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

President Roxas is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cotabato, which contains 543 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion ranks 13th by 2020 population. Cotabato is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay Poblacion is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
