Situated in Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon, Barangay Maningcay De Oro is one of 23 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Maningcay De Oro had a population of 1,270. This made it the 6th largest of 23 barangays in Prieto Diaz by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maningcay De Oro accounted for approximately 5.61% of the total population of Prieto Diaz, which stood at 22,644 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,249 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,270 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.7%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Maningcay De Oro as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Prieto Diaz is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maningcay De Oro, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
