Barangay San Lorenzo

Barangay San Lorenzo is a small barangay in the municipality of Prosperidad, located in the province of Agusan Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Lorenzo had a population of 1,614. This made it the 26th largest of 32 barangays in Prosperidad by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Lorenzo accounted for approximately 1.83% of the total population of Prosperidad, which stood at 88,321 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Lorenzo moving from 1,310 residents to 1,614 residents, an intercensal change of +23.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Lorenzo as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Prosperidad is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Lorenzo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
