Barangay Santo Niño

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Santo Niño is one of the administrative divisions of Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santo Niño had a population of 2,711. This made it the 8th largest of 13 barangays in Puerto Galera by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santo Niño accounted for approximately 6.46% of the total population of Puerto Galera, which stood at 41,961 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,110 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,711 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +28.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santo Niño is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Puerto Galera is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santo Niño, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Oriental Mindoro, which contains 426 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Santo Niño ranks 109th by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
