Situated in Romblon, Romblon, Barangay Ginablan is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ginablan had a population of 763. This made it the 24th largest of 31 barangays in Romblon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ginablan accounted for approximately 1.88% of the total population of Romblon, which stood at 40,554 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Ginablan changed from 725 to 763, a shift of +5.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Romblon. Barangay Ginablan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Romblon is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ginablan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
