Barangay Santa Cruz

Barangay Santa Cruz is a large barangay in the municipality of Rosario, located in the province of Agusan Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santa Cruz had a population of 9,479. This made it the 2nd largest of 11 barangays in Rosario by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Cruz accounted for approximately 19.11% of the total population of Rosario, which stood at 49,610 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 8,659 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 9,479 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santa Cruz is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Rosario is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Cruz, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Agusan Del Sur, which contains 314 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Santa Cruz ranks 8th by 2020 population.
