Barangay Damortis

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Damortis is one of the administrative divisions of Rosario in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Damortis had a population of 2,568. This made it the 7th largest of 33 barangays in Rosario by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Damortis accounted for approximately 4.26% of the total population of Rosario, which stood at 60,278 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Damortis moving from 2,513 residents to 2,568 residents, an intercensal change of +2.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Damortis is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Rosario is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Damortis, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
