Barangay Betwagan

Barangay Betwagan is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Sadanga, located in the province of Mountain Province, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Betwagan had a population of 2,122. This made it the 1st largest of 8 barangays in Sadanga by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Betwagan accounted for approximately 25.18% of the total population of Sadanga, which stood at 8,427 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,324 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,122 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -8.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Betwagan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sadanga is a municipality comprising 8 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Betwagan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Mountain Province, which contains 144 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Betwagan ranks 19th by 2020 population.
