Barangay Sorioan

Barangay Sorioan forms part of Salcedo, a municipality in Ilocos Sur, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sorioan had a population of 595. This made it the 9th largest of 21 barangays in Salcedo by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. The barangay recorded 622 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 595 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Sorioan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
