Barangay Mayngaway

Barangay Mayngaway forms part of San Andres, a municipality in Catanduanes, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mayngaway had a population of 2,556. This made it the 3rd largest of 38 barangays in San Andres by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mayngaway accounted for approximately 6.64% of the total population of San Andres, which stood at 38,480 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mayngaway moving from 2,415 residents to 2,556 residents, an intercensal change of +5.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mayngaway as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Andres is a municipality comprising 38 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mayngaway, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
