Barangay Mandu-awak

Situated in San Dionisio, Iloilo, Barangay Mandu-awak is one of 29 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mandu-awak had a population of 2,478. This made it the 3rd largest of 29 barangays in San Dionisio by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mandu-awak accounted for approximately 6.35% of the total population of San Dionisio, which stood at 39,048 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,273 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,478 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mandu-awak as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Dionisio is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mandu-awak, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mandu-awak ranks 159th by 2020 population.
