Barangay Poblacion

Situated in San Dionisio, Iloilo, Barangay Poblacion is one of 29 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 2,936. This made it the 1st largest of 29 barangays in San Dionisio by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 7.52% of the total population of San Dionisio, which stood at 39,048 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,158 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,936 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -7.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

San Dionisio is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
