Barangay San Rafael

Situated in San Felipe, Zambales, Barangay San Rafael is one of 11 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Rafael had a population of 1,167. This made it the 10th largest of 11 barangays in San Felipe by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Rafael accounted for approximately 4.66% of the total population of San Felipe, which stood at 25,033 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,296 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,167 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -10.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Rafael as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Felipe is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Rafael, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
