Barangay Lupi

Barangay Lupi is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of San Fernando, located in the province of Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lupi had a population of 3,323. This made it the 2nd largest of 22 barangays in San Fernando by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lupi accounted for approximately 8.60% of the total population of San Fernando, which stood at 38,626 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lupi moving from 3,077 residents to 3,323 residents, an intercensal change of +8.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lupi as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Fernando is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lupi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Lupi ranks 129th by 2020 population. Barangay Lupi is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
