This made it the 23rd largest of 26 barangays in San Fernando by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lumbia accounted for approximately 2.00% of the total population of San Fernando, which stood at 21,600 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 415 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 432 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Lumbia is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
