Barangay San Fernando

Barangay San Fernando is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of San Jose, located in the province of Antique, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Fernando had a population of 3,237. This made it the 7th largest of 28 barangays in San Jose by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Fernando accounted for approximately 4.97% of the total population of San Jose, which stood at 65,140 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Fernando moving from 2,708 residents to 3,237 residents, an intercensal change of +19.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay San Fernando is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Jose is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Fernando, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
