Situated in San Juan, Batangas, Barangay Poctol is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poctol had a population of 3,028. This made it the 16th largest of 42 barangays in San Juan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poctol accounted for approximately 2.65% of the total population of San Juan, which stood at 114,068 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,548 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,028 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +18.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poctol as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
