Barangay Pinarigusan

Situated in San Miguel, Leyte, Barangay Pinarigusan is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pinarigusan had a population of 525. This made it the 16th largest of 21 barangays in San Miguel by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pinarigusan accounted for approximately 2.66% of the total population of San Miguel, which stood at 19,753 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pinarigusan moving from 581 residents to 525 residents, an intercensal change of -9.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pinarigusan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Miguel is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pinarigusan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
