Barangay San Andres

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay San Andres is one of the administrative divisions of San Miguel in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Andres had a population of 493. This made it the 17th largest of 21 barangays in San Miguel by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Andres accounted for approximately 2.50% of the total population of San Miguel, which stood at 19,753 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Andres moving from 434 residents to 493 residents, an intercensal change of +13.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay San Andres is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Miguel is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Andres, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
