Barangay Santa Asuncion

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Santa Asuncion is one of the administrative divisions of San Nicolas in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santa Asuncion had a population of 923. This made it the 20th largest of 24 barangays in San Nicolas by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Asuncion accounted for approximately 2.37% of the total population of San Nicolas, which stood at 38,895 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 881 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 923 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santa Asuncion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
