Barangay Bagacay

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bagacay is one of the administrative divisions of San Rafael in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

This made it the 7th largest of 9 barangays in San Rafael by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagacay accounted for approximately 7.59% of the total population of San Rafael, which stood at 17,795 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,207 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,351 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +11.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagacay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Rafael is a municipality comprising 9 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagacay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
