Barangay Sila

Situated in San Vicente, Northern Samar, Barangay Sila is one of 7 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sila had a population of 449. This made it the 7th largest of 7 barangays in San Vicente by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sila accounted for approximately 6.48% of the total population of San Vicente, which stood at 6,928 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 465 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 449 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sila as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Vicente is a municipality comprising 7 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sila, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
