Situated in Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur, Barangay Sidaoen is one of 49 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sidaoen had a population of 958. This made it the 19th largest of 49 barangays in Santa Cruz by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sidaoen accounted for approximately 2.32% of the total population of Santa Cruz, which stood at 41,366 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 994 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 958 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -3.6%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sidaoen as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
