Barangay Poblacion II

Situated in Santa Magdalena, Sorsogon, Barangay Poblacion II is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion II had a population of 558. This made it the 13th largest of 14 barangays in Santa Magdalena by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion II accounted for approximately 3.26% of the total population of Santa Magdalena, which stood at 17,096 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 584 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 558 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.5%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion II as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santa Magdalena is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion II, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
