Barangay Santo Rosario

Barangay Santo Rosario is a small barangay in the municipality of Santa Maria, located in the province of Davao Occidental, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santo Rosario had a population of 1,466. This made it the 16th largest of 22 barangays in Santa Maria by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santo Rosario accounted for approximately 2.55% of the total population of Santa Maria, which stood at 57,526 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Santo Rosario changed from 1,239 to 1,466, a shift of +18.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Santa Maria. Barangay Santo Rosario is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santa Maria is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santo Rosario, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
