Barangay Magsaysay

Barangay Magsaysay is a small barangay in the municipality of Santa Monica, located in the province of Surigao Del Norte, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magsaysay had a population of 675. This made it the 8th largest of 11 barangays in Santa Monica by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magsaysay accounted for approximately 7.16% of the total population of Santa Monica, which stood at 9,423 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magsaysay moving from 658 residents to 675 residents, an intercensal change of +2.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magsaysay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
