Barangay Poblacion Norte

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Poblacion Norte is one of the administrative divisions of Santiago in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion Norte had a population of 396. This made it the 21st largest of 24 barangays in Santiago by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion Norte accounted for approximately 2.03% of the total population of Santiago, which stood at 19,471 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion Norte changed from 402 to 396, a shift of -1.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Santiago. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion Norte as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santiago is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion Norte, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
