Barangay San Francisco

Barangay San Francisco is a small barangay in the municipality of Santo Domingo, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Francisco had a population of 1,500. This made it the 19th largest of 24 barangays in Santo Domingo by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Francisco accounted for approximately 2.46% of the total population of Santo Domingo, which stood at 61,092 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,180 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,500 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +27.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay San Francisco is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santo Domingo is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Francisco, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Francisco ranks 588th by 2020 population. Nueva Ecija is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
