Barangay Bail

Situated in Santo Tomas, La Union, Barangay Bail is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bail had a population of 2,462. This made it the 5th largest of 24 barangays in Santo Tomas by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bail accounted for approximately 6.03% of the total population of Santo Tomas, which stood at 40,846 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,397 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,462 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bail is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santo Tomas is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bail, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of La Union, which contains 576 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bail ranks 65th by 2020 population.
