Barangay Sixto Velez, Sr.

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Sixto Velez, Sr. is one of the administrative divisions of Sapang Dalaga in Misamis Occidental, Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sixto Velez, Sr. had a population of 365. This made it the 24th largest of 28 barangays in Sapang Dalaga by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sixto Velez, Sr. accounted for approximately 1.78% of the total population of Sapang Dalaga, which stood at 20,490 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 387 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 365 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sixto Velez, Sr. as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sapang Dalaga is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sixto Velez, Sr., including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
