Barangay San Andres

Barangay San Andres is a small barangay in the municipality of Sarrat, located in the province of Ilocos Norte, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Andres had a population of 1,503. This made it the 4th largest of 24 barangays in Sarrat by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Andres accounted for approximately 5.97% of the total population of Sarrat, which stood at 25,186 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Andres moving from 1,479 residents to 1,503 residents, an intercensal change of +1.6%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay San Andres is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sarrat is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Andres, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
