Barangay Bugso

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Bugso is one of the administrative divisions of Sen. Ninoy Aquino in Sultan Kudarat, SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bugso had a population of 3,923. This made it the 3rd largest of 20 barangays in Sen. Ninoy Aquino by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bugso accounted for approximately 8.28% of the total population of Sen. Ninoy Aquino, which stood at 47,374 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bugso changed from 4,110 to 3,923, a shift of -4.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Sen. Ninoy Aquino. Barangay Bugso is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sen. Ninoy Aquino is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bugso, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Sultan Kudarat, which contains 249 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bugso ranks 64th by 2020 population. The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
