Barangay Balunokan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Balunokan is one of the administrative divisions of Siayan in Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balunokan had a population of 677. This made it the 22nd largest of 22 barangays in Siayan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balunokan accounted for approximately 1.87% of the total population of Siayan, which stood at 36,236 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Balunokan changed from 764 to 677, a shift of -11.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Siayan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balunokan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Siayan is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balunokan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
