Barangay Bahay

Situated in Sibonga, Cebu, Barangay Bahay is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bahay had a population of 5,646. This made it the 2nd largest of 25 barangays in Sibonga by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bahay accounted for approximately 10.57% of the total population of Sibonga, which stood at 53,424 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 5,013 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,646 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +12.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bahay is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Sibonga is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bahay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bahay ranks 141st by 2020 population. Cebu is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
