Barangay Basak

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Basak is one of the administrative divisions of Sibuco in Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Basak had a population of 154. This made it the 28th largest of 28 barangays in Sibuco by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Basak accounted for approximately 0.43% of the total population of Sibuco, which stood at 36,049 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Basak moving from 130 residents to 154 residents, an intercensal change of +18.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Basak as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
