Barangay Doña Josefa

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Doña Josefa is one of the administrative divisions of Sindangan in Zamboanga Del Norte, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Doña Josefa had a population of 2,188. This made it the 22nd largest of 52 barangays in Sindangan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Doña Josefa accounted for approximately 2.10% of the total population of Sindangan, which stood at 103,952 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,916 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,188 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +14.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Doña Josefa is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sindangan is a municipality comprising 52 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Doña Josefa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
