Barangay Candanay Norte

Barangay Candanay Norte is a small barangay in the municipality of Siquijor, located in the province of Siquijor, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Candanay Norte had a population of 1,016. This made it the 9th largest of 42 barangays in Siquijor by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Candanay Norte accounted for approximately 3.51% of the total population of Siquijor, which stood at 28,915 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 943 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,016 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Candanay Norte is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Siquijor is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Candanay Norte, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
