Barangay Upper Patag

Barangay Upper Patag is a small barangay in the municipality of Sison, located in the province of Surigao Del Norte, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Upper Patag had a population of 772. This made it the 6th largest of 12 barangays in Sison by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Upper Patag accounted for approximately 5.40% of the total population of Sison, which stood at 14,290 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Upper Patag changed from 697 to 772, a shift of +10.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Sison. Barangay Upper Patag is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sison is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Upper Patag, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
