Barangay Zone III (Pob.)

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Zone III (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Sogod in Southern Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Zone III (Pob.) had a population of 2,174. This made it the 2nd largest of 45 barangays in Sogod by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Zone III (Pob.) accounted for approximately 4.57% of the total population of Sogod, which stood at 47,552 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Zone III (Pob.) moving from 2,359 residents to 2,174 residents, an intercensal change of -7.8%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Zone III (Pob.) as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Sogod is a municipality comprising 45 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Zone III (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Southern Leyte, which contains 500 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Zone III (Pob.) ranks 17th by 2020 population.
