Barangay Dassun

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Dassun is one of the administrative divisions of Solana in Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Dassun had a population of 4,207. This made it the 5th largest of 38 barangays in Solana by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dassun accounted for approximately 4.76% of the total population of Solana, which stood at 88,445 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Dassun changed from 4,000 to 4,207, a shift of +5.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Solana. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dassun as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Solana is a municipality comprising 38 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dassun, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dassun ranks 31st by 2020 population.
