Barangay Malalam-Malacabibi

Barangay Malalam-Malacabibi is a small barangay in the municipality of Solana, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malalam-Malacabibi had a population of 1,682. This made it the 26th largest of 38 barangays in Solana by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malalam-Malacabibi accounted for approximately 1.90% of the total population of Solana, which stood at 88,445 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,621 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,682 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Malalam-Malacabibi is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Solana is a municipality comprising 38 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malalam-Malacabibi, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
