Barangay Magkarila

Barangay Magkarila is a small barangay in the municipality of Talisayan, located in the province of Misamis Oriental, in the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Magkarila had a population of 662. This made it the 15th largest of 18 barangays in Talisayan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magkarila accounted for approximately 2.57% of the total population of Talisayan, which stood at 25,761 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magkarila moving from 614 residents to 662 residents, an intercensal change of +7.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Magkarila is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talisayan is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magkarila, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
