Barangay Limot forms part of Tarragona, a municipality in Davao Oriental, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Limot had a population of 2,330. This made it the 6th largest of 10 barangays in Tarragona by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Limot accounted for approximately 8.63% of the total population of Tarragona, which stood at 26,996 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,714 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,330 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -14.1%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Limot is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
