Barangay Alegre

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Alegre is one of the administrative divisions of Tibiao in Antique, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Alegre had a population of 297. This made it the 20th largest of 21 barangays in Tibiao by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alegre accounted for approximately 1.03% of the total population of Tibiao, which stood at 28,703 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Alegre moving from 280 residents to 297 residents, an intercensal change of +6.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Alegre is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tibiao is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alegre, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Antique, which contains 590 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Alegre ranks 527th by 2020 population.
