Barangay Malingao

Barangay Malingao forms part of Tubod, a municipality in Lanao Del Norte, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malingao had a population of 3,999. This made it the 2nd largest of 24 barangays in Tubod by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malingao accounted for approximately 7.99% of the total population of Tubod, which stood at 50,073 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Malingao moving from 3,730 residents to 3,999 residents, an intercensal change of +7.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Malingao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tubod is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malingao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
