Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Urbiztondo in Pangasinan, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 5,234. This made it the 2nd largest of 21 barangays in Urbiztondo by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 9.42% of the total population of Urbiztondo, which stood at 55,557 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion changed from 5,106 to 5,234, a shift of +2.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Urbiztondo. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Urbiztondo is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion ranks 72nd by 2020 population. Pangasinan is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
