Barangay Bonifacio

Barangay Bonifacio is a small barangay in the municipality of Uson, located in the province of Masbate, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bonifacio had a population of 1,816. This made it the 10th largest of 35 barangays in Uson by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bonifacio accounted for approximately 3.18% of the total population of Uson, which stood at 57,166 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bonifacio moving from 1,804 residents to 1,816 residents, an intercensal change of +0.7%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bonifacio as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Uson is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bonifacio, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Masbate, which contains 550 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bonifacio ranks 161st by 2020 population.
