Barangay Anibongan

Situated in Abuyog, Leyte, Barangay Anibongan is one of 63 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

This made it the 46th largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Anibongan accounted for approximately 0.84% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Anibongan changed from 437 to 517, a shift of +18.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Abuyog. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Anibongan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Abuyog is a municipality comprising 63 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Anibongan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
